  Fr. Speitel is the very model of a model priest. Reverent, orthodox, "says the black, does the red." Confession before every Mass (!), and he gives good, pithy direction, which allows the greatest number of people to be seen (none of this where one person goes in and takes up the entire period so that no one else gets to confess). The people (at least those I have met) are wonderful. The parishioners are a good mix of professional and blue collar, old and young, with many young families. This is certainly a good sign. The one drawback is the music, which reflects some of the worst post-conciliar trends. It's hard to listen to, although there are signs things are moving in a different and better direction.
